Sunday Funday

Happy Sunday everyone!

Sundays are probably my most relaxed day of the week.
I love to wake up earlier on Sunday mornings grab a book and some good breakfast and just relax.
Kai usually works Sunday Mornings so I usually have the house to myself for a few hours in the morning. I love the peace and quiet so I use this time to do things I can't do when Kai is home, because I love him so much he just distracts me LOL !

A little while back we spoke about the importance of a Morning routine and how it can really help you start your day off to he right foot so be sure to check that post out HERE

I've recently had to change my Morning routine because of my work schedule because of my work schedule so I figured I would share it with you today before I started implementing it this week to help you guys get in the spirit of trying it out yourself.

( I opted out of putting the times on my schedule this time due to the fact that my work schedule changes frequently so I have to be up and out of the house at different times throughout the week)

  1. First and only alarm : I have been trying to work on not hitting snooze
  2. Wake up, Drink a bottle of water and take vitamins
  3. Wash Face and Brush Teeth
  4. Breakfast smoothie
  5. Meditate
  6. Sun Salutations
  7. Eat High protein breakfast or take it to go depending on time

So there's not that many changes going on with my routine but I am removing all that snoozing  you saw in the first schedule I am currently down to just two alarms and soon I'll stop hitting the snooze button completely. If you guys missed where I spoke about the dangers of hitting the snooze button be sure to check that out HERE.

So create your morning routine and try it out this week! It's sure to make your mornings a lot easier.

Progress

Happy Wednesday everyone, we're at the midpoint of the week already!

I can't lie to you guys recently I have been in an awesome mood and I am really happy with the progress I am making even if they are small victories!

I have been able to cross one major task off my new year's resolution list and honestly, it feels really great!

FIND HIGHER PAYING JOB THAT I ACTUALLY LIKE (CHECK!)

I am very happy with my new job and I am ready to tackle every day because I actually enjoy going to work now. I may be tired but unfortunately, that is one of the side effects of chasing your dreams, If you want it you have to work for it which may leave you exhausted in the process.

I am also getting way better at using my planner to plan out my week which makes it way easier for me to plan out my week and be able to see everything I have planned just by looking at it.

I have also made some progress on my Spring cleaning prep list which was A major project in itself. We have way too many clothes in this house that either doesn't fit or we just don't wear anymore, I went through all of the clothes and donated all the unwanted clothes an washed all of the backed up laundry!

DONATE UNWANTED CLOTHES AND WASH BACKED UP LAUNDRY (CHECK!)

It honestly feels really great to complete items on your to-do lists no matter how small the tasks are,
every small accomplishment helps you get closer to achieving the bigger goal.

So How's your progress going?

Are you having a difficult time completing the goals you're planning?
Try starting out with smaller goals instead of jumping in right away and remember it is ok to not jam-pack your days with stuff fill in things that are definite before the week starts and save some space to fill in as you go through the week!

To see more tips about using your planner the best way and how having a to list really benefits check out these posts Planning it out HERE and Crossing it off  HERE

Who Hates Mondays ?

Today here in Fayetteville although it is indeed pretty warm but is cloudy and dreary outside because it rained earlier this morning So it's really not helping me shake off the Monday Blues.

So those of us who watched the Groundhog Day results know that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow predicting 6 more weeks of winter weather. But we here in Fayetteville have been experiencing some warmer weather recently and I couldn't be happier about it! Everyone who lives here in Fayetteville knows how erratic the weather can be here, one day it's sunny and 64 the next day 35 and cloudy. But, even my family back home in New York City have been saying the weather has been a bit nicer.

So maybe Punxsutawney Phil was wrong ... Let a girl dream ok, there's no harm in wishing for a little warm weather is there.

So Today I wanted to share with you some tips to help you start your week off on a positive note  and keep it going throughout the week,

Shaking Off The Monday Blues

So Many people dread Mondays, Just waking up and having to go to work becomes the hardest thing in the world after spending two days relaxing at home with nothing important to do. But I am here to help you turn that negative attitude about Mondays into a positive one because in reality there's No better day than Monday well ok Fridays definitely surpass Mondays but Mondays are still great!

  1. Go to sleep early on Sunday: See now believe it or not this is the most important thing about having a better Monday if you wake up well rested you'll be in a less grouchy mood and actually be a little bit more motivated to start the day. So on Sunday night, try to hit the hay early enough to get that full 8 hours of rest so you can wake up well rested and happier on Monday morning.
  2. Think Positively: A lot of us fall into the Monday blues just because we have a negative view on Mondays. We all think about going back to work or school and realize that our two days of pure relaxation and fun are over and its time to get back into work mode and that makes us hate Monday. But Monday should be viewed as a new beginning last week and whatever chaos it brought with it is over and you have a new week to be productive and start fresh. Use this brand new week to be positive and productive, not to be wallowing about the weekend.
  3. Meditate on Mondays: You guys know how much I love Meditation, and I feel its a great to start your week off on the right path. So when you wake up Monday morning before you start getting ready or when you have a few minutes to spare, meditate to clear your mind and have a fresh start to a new week for those of you who have never tried meditation, you can see my tips for getting started HERE
  4.  Get that Planner it out: We spoke about how important having a weekly planner is I try to write in my work schedule and basic things I know I definitely have to do on Sunday Nights or Monday mornings depending on my work schedule. Use your Planner to write down and see all the tasks you have to and want to complete this week.

Preparing for Spring

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and is ready to start the new week!
Can you believe we're approaching March already? It seems like just yesterday it was New Years Day!

And with March approaching I can't help but think of spring! The weather, the colors EASTER and of course spring cleaning!

Spring cleaning is probably not most people's favorite thing about the spring but for me, it's one of the things I look forward to every year. Getting rid of old junk and organizing the house just brings a nice aura around me home.

And this year I plan on going full-on organization mode because I have some pretty awesome things planned for the spring (Don't worry I'll fill you in as it happens) and having the house organized will make it way easier!

I'll go into specific projects as I finish them but as of right now I am just preparing for spring cleaning, So today I wanted to share with you some tips to help you get ready as well!

Moki's Spring Cleaning Prep List

  1. Use my tips for Clearing Your environment of clutter if you missed those posts check out Part 1 and Part 2  those posts will help you tremendously when it comes to spring cleaning.
  2. Make A Spring Cleaning Checklist: As soon as I finish my checklist I will post my completed list but this will really help you plan out exactly what it is you need to do.
  3. Stock up on storage supplies: Organization is a huge factor in spring cleaning so I like to start with this first by stocking up on the supplies I need to start organizing like; hangers, storage bins, Space bags etc. However, you plan on storing your bulky winter clothes it helps to get a head start and buy the things you need and don't have already.
  4. Wash Those winter clothes: There's no point in storing away dirty winter clothes, as the warmer weather approaches wash a load of winter sweaters and take winter coats to the dry cleaners.

Relaxing- Organized Mindset

Happy Saturday everyone!

I've finally got a solid schedule at work so I will be posting a whole lot more from this week on!
I really do want to apologize yet again for the lapse in posts these previous weeks but a girl needs her sleep!
We've almost made it through yet another fabulous week of this amazing new year!

But let's be real some of us most of us aren't having that great of a year some of us may be having a rough start and some of us may be experiencing no change at all, so if you are feeling down about how your year is going so far Relax! We're only two months in (which is already crazy to say) we still have plenty of time to check off those to do list and accomplish those goals.

Which Brings me to what I wanted to talk to you guys about today!

RELAXATION

We spoke about the importance of writing out your goals and how important it is for you to set aside time to achieve your goals. But it is extremely important to set aside time to relax as well. All work and no play is no good for anyone. After a hard week of work, it's important to set aside some time to relax and just unwind.

So today I am going to show you how I like to unwind and some of these may seem a little "weird don't knock it till you try it!

  1. Watch A Nature Documentary: This is unbelievably my favorite way to relax, now it may seem a little bit unorthodox but when I dive in deep to these nature docs they complete relax me, being able to teleport to the middle of the ocean or watching gazelles in the African Sahara helps me completely forget about what's happening in my life and just let go.
  2.  Take a Walk: Most people associate relaxing with staying still and you know relaxing your muscles as well as your mind. However, going for a walk around the block can really help you clear your head. Bring along your favorite tunes and Maybe even Fido too LOL he'll certainly be glad to accompany you as soon as you grab the leash.
  3. Sit In Barnes&Noble: This is honestly one of my guilty pleasures, grab yourself a coffee or tea from the cafe and grab a chair and settle in with a good book and some meditation music an drift into another world. Now some of you may be thinking can't we just do that at home? Of course but let's be real, those of us who live with family or roommates sometimes pray for a moment of peace or some time for ourselves. This is a way to not only change up the scenery and ensure complete peace from everyone at home. Plus everyone at Barnes and Noble is there for the exact same reason they'll be to busy with a book or typing away on their laptop to pester you.
  4. Take a Shower: Now everytime someone says relax a bubble bath is definitely one of the first five things that pop into my head and I love a good bath bomb or bubble bar as much as the next girl, however, a good shower can be just as soothing. I like to use a lavender soap my favorite is the Yardley Lavender and vanilla it makes my whole bathroom smell like lavender. Another tip I like to use for the shower is to tie some dry eucalyptus leaves behind my shower head and it really makes the whole shower smell amazing it clears your mind and when you're feeling under the weather it'll do wonders on a stuffy nose or clogged sinuses.

Why I started this blog.

Why did I start my blog?

This is a question I have been working out in my head since I launched my blog. Having an Organized Mindset !

Briefly, in the last post, I spoke to you about having an "organized mindset" but it's not as easy as it sounds and it definitely helps to have some physical reminders and plans as well but it all starts with the brain.

Remember when we spoke about Writing it out, Planning it out, and Crossing it out if you do good if not be sure to check those posts out because they go hand in hand with having an organized mindset and being mentally organized.

These methods of planning help you break down your goals into sets of easier tasks that you can achieve more quickly while motivating you to work harder in the process.

But what do we do when we have so much to do and you don't know how or when to do it.
Most of the time writing things down is not enough to actually get us going

So Today I am going to tell you a few things you can do in the morning to keep your mind clutter free or at least help you try.

Tips to A Clutter-Free Mind,

1. Getting A good night's sleep : Now this is something we have been being told since we were little, and even today we are constantly told how important getting those 7-8 hours of complete rest our to our mind and body and yet according to Living Science 35% of Americans claim to get less than 7 hours of sleep each night. Getting a good night sleep seriously impacts your next morning way more than you realize. According to the Stanford University Sleep Medicine Center, "in a couple of hours before you naturally wake up your body begins to raise your core temperature. And if you're not getting enough sleep when your alarm rings it will wake your body too soon making your bed seem too irresistible to leave which causes the next problem.

2. Stop Hitting snooze! Have you ever heard the phrase you snooze you lose? Well if that's not the truth I don't know what is, without even realizing it the snooze button is a major part of people's mornings including mine, in fact, I hit snooze so much I'm one of those people that has a series of alarms to wake me up so that I can actually get up at the time I need to. This is yet another habit we need to break.  Hitting the snooze button is a problem for a lot of obvious reasons but there are some dangers that we don't even think about. Don't you love it when you wake up before your alarm? It feels good to know that you can lay down and relax for a few more minutes doesn't it? But did you know that if you hit snooze often you will decrease the likelihood for his to happen because the more you snooze  The more you ruin the connection between your alarm going off and you waking up needed for behavioral conditioning which means not only will your hatred of mornings increase but soon you may end up ignoring your alarm altogether.

3. Grab your planner before you grab your phone: A lot of times we hear that alarm we wake up get out of bed and grab our phone and head to the bathroom. This is a typical morning for most people including myself. But it's time to break that habit, wouldn't it make sense for us to start our day by grabbing the things we actually need to look at, what good is writing things out and planning them if you're never going to look at them? So when you wake up in the morning instead of grabbing your phone and scrolling through Instagram, Grab your planner and see the things you have to do and want to get done today so you have a plan from the very moment you wake up.

Mediation : Clearing your mind of clutter pt3

Hey, guys, I'm sorry I haven't  posted in a while I started a new job and to be honest, it has been whopping my behind and I have been super tired lately. But I promise to get back to my regular routine now that my body is getting used to my new schedule.

So today I wanted to continue our discussion on something I mentioned when I first started discussing Clearing your mind of clutter which is Meditation, meditation has recently become a very important part of my life that I simply feel I didn't do it much Justice in the Last Post So I wanted to go  a little more in-depth with you and give you some key points to follow when you meditate.

  1. Mediation is not about blocking out thoughts it's about letting them arise and putting them away for a later time, acknowledge the thoughts that come to you and then gently put them away. I like to think of my thoughts as little clouds and I just swipe them away as they come up.
  2. When should I meditate? This is the question all of my family and friends ask me when I tell them to try meditation. I always recommend meditating in the morning, I feel it's a great way to start the day and really helps you maintain a clear mindset all day long. However, if your mornings are really busy pick a time during the day when you usually have about 5-10 free minutes anyway and use that time to do a quick meditation ( If I'm in a rush in the morning I do a quick 5 min meditation while walking to work using the breathe app's Mindful Walking or right outside my job before I go in while I'm enjoying my last few sips of my breakfast smoothie)
  3. How are you feeling: While meditating be sure to check in on your emotions and think about what may be causing these emotions
  4. Focus on Your body: Sure meditation is a great way to increase mental wellness but it's also a great way to check in on your body as well when sitting/lying down be sure to take some time to Check how your body feels, what feels tense? Does anything ache?
  5. Don't try too hard with your breathing: You want to focus on your breathing but you want to allow it to keep its natural pattern.
So go ahead and give meditation a try, keep these tips in mind and remember you will get better with time and practice. So sit back close your eyes and get ready to relax.

Clearing Your Mind pt-2

The Benefits of A morning routine

Having a morning routine is a great way to free your mind from clutter, sometimes in the morning we can be flooded with thoughts of things we need to do before days end, Having a morning routine not only sets your day off to an organized start but it also makes mornings so much easier!

When you wake up in the morning and you know exactly what you have to do when you wake up it saves your brain some much needed power early in the morning to say the least. LOL

So I decided  to show you my morning routine as an example. My routine is a little different on the days I work in the mornings but overall this is what it looks like

9:00AM- First alarm SNOOZE
9:30 -Second Alarm SNOOZE
10:00 AM third alarm WAKE UP NO SNOOZE
- Drink Bottle of water, take vitamins
- Wash Face/ Brush Teeth
10:20 - Breakfast Smoothie
10:30 Meditation
10:45: Sun Salutations
11:15 Solid Breakfast
The reason I like having a morning routine is because it really does make my morning go a lot smoother if I already know what I have to do plus it helps me take care of things I need to do every day right off the bat so I dont have to think about it during the day.

Making a morning routine is extremely helpful in helping you incorporate new habits you want to implement in your daily life. Completing these tasks early in the morning will make you feel good and that's a great way to start your day

Clearing Your Mind Of Clutter

So  recently we've talked about the physical aspects of being organized

  • Organizing our goals, and ideas
  • Planning and making time to achieve our goals and do the things we need and want to do
  • Setting up our environment to support our habits
  • How to declutter your space
These all refer to being what I  like to call "Materially organized" meaning things that you can physically do to be more organized

But today I would like to talk about having an Organized Mindset and how important it is to declutter your mind.

So you might be looking at me a little bit sideways when I say declutter the brain, but let me explain so your head will stop tilting and start nodding YES!

Have you ever sat down to do something and then all of a sudden you end up doing something completely different then you planned on doing and then BAM! before you know it you've spent three hours looking at wedding dresses online instead of actually working on your guest list?

Yeah, we've all been in a similar situation where we don't realize we're distracted because we're not really distracted we're just missed the bullseye by a few centimeters.

In my example, I wanted to do some wedding planning but instead of doing something productive I've spent my time doing basically nothing

This thanks to what I call a "disorganized mindset"

It's hard to focus when we have so many things we want to do and it becomes very easy to prioritize the things we want to do when we don't have a mental plan for the day.

So today I want to talk to you about something very important to me and something that has helped me gain mental clarity and help me begin freeing my mind from clutter.

Meditation

Now meditation has been around for ages but today it is becoming more and more popular which is making it more and more easy for you to do it. There are tons of apps that you can use I use the App Breathe on the IOS marketplace and I love it! This app allows you to check your emotions and how your body is feeling and then suggest meditation sessions that go best based on how you feel.

They offer Yoga videos, Meditation, Mindful walking and it really helps they have sessions from 2-10 mins long and that's really all you need.

You can also look up guided meditation videos on Youtube as well

So try it today take some time and just meditate you'll be so surprised at how good it makes you feel I promise!

(Tip: Meditate first thing in the morning to start the right way and in a great mood )

Clearing Your Environment Of clutter-pt4

So the last time we spoke about this I gave you a few examples of HOW TO DECLUTTERand WHERE TO STARTand if you missed that go ahead and check those posts before you read this one so you're up to speed.

So before I wrap this up I wanted to send you away with a few key points on decluttering for you to remember.

  1. Work one room at a time, completely finish decluttering one room before moving on to the next one
  2. Start with the room you feel with be the easiest to complete
  3. Decluttering is not just about throwing away do your part and reduce, reuse, recycle.
  4. Wait until you are done with the decluttering process to make new purchases
  5. Make a list of things you need during the process
Now comes the part the requires real discipline. Now that we've decluttered your space we have to do your part and keep it that way.

People have a tendency to  go right out and "re-clutter"

Now, remember that list I told you to make while you were decluttering?
Now's the time to use it go through it and buy the things you actually need and scribble out the things you realized you don't need.
But what about the things we want?
Now I am not saying to declutter and never buy anything you don't need again, of course not what I am saying is use this fresh slate to refrain from buying junk and cluttering your home yet again.

When it comes to buying clothes ask yourself those same three questions I Mentioned before

[ Does it Fit? , Where would I wear it?, and most importantly Do I really love it?]
I hope I inspired you guys to declutter your space and help you move forward to having a great year!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow for the first post in the next phase of our journey Freeing Your Mind of Clutter

Clearing Your Environment of Clutter-pt3

So now you want to start decluttering, but you have no idea where to start. It can be overwhelming at first but I promise it gets easier, so keep on pushing forward! Everyone is different so feel free to create your own method and start wherever you like but For those of you Looking for some motivation I'll show you how I got started

Step 1: My Bedroom

So I took the easy way out and started with the easiest room in my house which just so happened to be my bedroom. I tend to keep my bedroom pretty tidy, to begin with so I figured I shouldn't really have that much junk to get rid of and boy was I wrong. after buckling down and really committing to really getting rid of clutter I was able to throw away lots of clutter and my room looks and feels way better !

A. The Closet & Dressers
So this was probably the hardest part of my journey it was time to let go and donate a lot of junk in my closet I've lost a ton of weight over the years so most of my stuff was just waiting to be donated so I took the time and sorted through my clothes and I am pretty satisfied with what I got rid of my closet looks a lot emptier than it did before and It really motivated me to move forward

Overall I Donated [ 3 purses, 2 pairs of shoes tons of clothing] I Threw out [ two old suitcases that were falling apart at the seams, and some clothes that were just so old they weren't even worth donating]

B. Dresser Top:
So I didn't realize how much junk I had on the top of my dresser until I went through it all, and boy was it surprised  I got rid of a bunch of stuff by selling it on The Facebook marketplace and various other apps so I made a little money out of the deal which is always sweet.

Overall I Sold [ 3 necklaces +$3, An old Jewelry box I was just tired of  looking at honestly +$5 and some old sunglasses I would no longer wear +$5]

Step 2. My Kitchen

My Kitchen can get hectic sometimes especially with all of the animals we have in our house, storing food and treats and everything else that normally goes into the kitchen, storage is something I really want to work on in the next few weeks so I decided to start getting rid of junk that was just no longer needed.

A. Cabinets & Drawers:

Most of the things in the kitchen I just threw except for a few jars and bottles that I plan to repurpose
I threw out Tupperware tops that no longer had bottoms and vice versa. I also got rid of all the junk under the sink and in the cabinets.

Clearing Your Environment of clutter -pt2

So previously we spoke about how to set up your environment to support the new habits you want to form this year. But today we're going to talk about cleaning your home as a whole.

So, of course, we want to give our habits a supporting environment but we also want to have our house clean without having to work our bones off every day keeping it clean.

While everyday messes are inevitable you can minimize the amount of time you spend each day just by simply decluttering your home.

Now I know everyone hears decluttering and instantly fear the big black garbage bags and the thought of having to throw away things but trust me it will help you keep your home clean and actually make you feel a lot better.

I started decluttering officially At the end of December I was preparing my home for the New Year when I came across a ton of things I realized I didn't even need. And now I am determined to declutter my whole home by the end of February!

So I wanted to give you a few tips on how you too can start decluttering your home.

Decluttering Your Home the Easy Way.

  1. Start one room at a time: When decluttering it's important to take your time and go through what you need and what you do not need, which is why I highly recommend picking one room and completely going through it before moving on to the next room.
  2. If you didn't even know you had it do you really need it? We've all gone to clean out our closet and found that old dress/top/pair of jeans That we totally forgot we had but now all of a sudden you need them in your life. Let's be real if those jeans have not been worn in the last few months are you really going to wear them? there are 3 questions to ask when you are in the pickle [ Does it Fit? , Where would I wear it?, and most importantly Do I really love it?]
  3. Don't just trash it: One man's trash is another man's treasure if it's not complete junk try to Sell, Donate, or regift it just because it's garbage to you doesn't mean someone else won't want or need it
  4. Repurpose! Most things can find a second life when you give them a chance, repurpose old jars to store dry goods, use old cans as planters and start an herb garden. The fewer things you throw in the trash the better!
  5. Wait till you're done to make new purchases: As you are going through and decluttering make a list of things you actually need once you are completely done decluttering and organizing then begin bringing in your new items [ i.e Don't buy a new microwave until you are completely done decluttering your kitchen and not before you get rid of your old one]
Be sure to come by tomorrow for tips on where to start your decluttering journey

And if you've missed the intro to all this be sure to check out the first post HERE

Clearing Your Environment of clutter -pt1

How many times have  you woke up in the morning thinking you're ready to pursue your goals only to be overwhelmed by how many things we put on our plate, and  spend so much time trying to figure out when to do that we end up having to sacrifice the things we want to do, to do the things we need to do which can make for a very unhappy psyche.

So that brings us to the next phase of this journey

 Clearing Your Environment of Clutter.

It is much easier for us to achieve our goals if we set up our environment in a way that supports these habits. Now you're probably thinking oh god CHANGE but I'm not talking about going out and making drastic changes to your home but the smallest of changes can help us achieve mini victories

So let's use Drink More Water as an example, so the goal is to obviously begin drinking water regularly but what can we change in our environment to make this easier for us?
Wouldn't it be easier to drink water if you had a cold pitcher waiting in the fridge?
Wouldn't you be less likely to forget your water bottle if you left a full one by your bed at night?

these two simple changes [keep water in the fridge & put water bottle beside your bed] can be the difference between you planning to do something and you actually doing something and this works for everything.

Want to do yoga in the morning make sure to leave out your yoga pants and mat the night before so you don't have to look for them in the morning.

When you can visualize doing something we are more open to actually doing it.

So start with a small environment change like the ones above and just see how easier it is to get things done

Crossing it Out Living A more organized life pt3

So let's quickly recall what we've talked about ;

  • We spoke about the importance of writing down our ideas, goals, and plans and keeping them organized
  • We spoke of the importance of breaking down goals into smaller tasks to help you achieve your goals
  • We spoke of the importance of  Planners and how it can help you manage time to achieve the goals
  • And most importantly we learned how important it is to celebrate the little victories because they motivate us to go after the big ones
So we've got everything written down and planned out and we're ready to begin achieving our dreams! So we're done right, Wrong ! this is the most motivating part of this journey!

So before I finish sharing with you my tips on how to get a little bit more organized I want to tell you the last and a probably most important factor of this whole thing.

Crossing It off!

That's right anyone can make lists and plan plans but the real wins come from action actually using your planner daily to see what you need and want to do for the day. Planning it out ! Living A more organized life ! - pt2

So know you've got your goals all out in front of you but now you have to make time to actually begin achieving these goals right? that brings me to the next part of Living a more organized life

Plan it Out

You've got a few goals written down and you have to admit you're excited to start achieving your goals, but now we've got to make time to do all of these things correct?

So, my friends, I want to introduce to you-you're a new best friend, your planner!  Having a planner is another thing I swear by I keep a larger one at my desk and a smaller one that I carry around in my purse so I can pencil things in on the go. Keeping a Planner can help you manage your time to achieve your goals

I love my planners and they make planning my week easier and more realistic when looking for a planner there are certain things for so today I want to show you my planner must haves!

  1. Blank Pages ! Having a blank planner literally gives you the freedom to do whatever it is you want creatively and It also gives you the freedom to make mistakes and keep going did you skip a week? its' fine you can literally label it as you go so you don't end up with any dead space haunting you in your planner
  2. Monthly and weekly breakdown! often I have come across planners that lack in one of these departments for your monthly view you want to make sure you have a calendar with space on the side to take notes and write goals. for the weekly view, you want to make sure you have enough space for each day especially if you are usually one with a packed schedule.
  3. Monthly overview pages most small planners do not have this space but larger ones will usually have space with important dates, goals, etc

So as I mentioned Above I use two different planners, I bought both  of mine for about $12.00 at Walmart

My pocket planner is From the Creative you Line by the Horizon Group, Let me just say I love this line I have purchased planner stickers, bookmarks and stamps from this line and they are just beautiful.

This planner is fairly small and has blank pages.

The monthly calendar is blank as well with room for notes on the side.

I love the amount of space they give you on the weekly set up and

My desk planner is by mint green and I absolutely love the colors and the beautiful motivational dividers for every month and the motivational quotes on the weekly pages.

They give you ample space for each day which I love!

Another great thing about my planner that I love is the at glance section that has space for important dates, birthdays, and To Do's

This planner is definitely my favorite the colors are beautiful there's literally motivation on every page and it comes with STICKERS !!!!

Tips For having a functional Planner

- Color-coded: Use colored pens or pencils to organize items in your planner  for example bills will be written in green PAY RENT, Personal goals will be pink, Leave a glass of water by my bed, and productive tasks will be blue Work on Blog for 1 hour
- Use stickers! Stickers will make your planner more you ! and also motivate you a little by adding a little flair to something that would otherwise be very "plain Jane".
- Not sure about a plan ? Write it in pencil that way you can always erase it if things don't work out the way you planned. This also works for adding in things months in advance just in case plans change.

Go grab yourself a planner! And start penciling in those goals you wrote down yesterday!

Writing it Out ! Living A more organized life ! - pt1

So Yesterday I shared with you all How excited  I am to get this year rolling and what I plan to do these next few months if you missed it check it out HERE!

So today I wanted to talk to you about the most important thing I believe in getting yourself motivated

Writing it Out!

When it comes to getting organized this is the number one factor, writing things helps you get all of your ideas out of your head and in a physical space where you can see them and keep them on your mind all the time motivating you more and more.

And no I do not mean scribbling random ideas on sticky notes, yes this gets the thoughts down but does not make them easily accessible or able to keep track of eventually they just get tossed out and forgotten. Think of all the brilliant ideas in your waste bin right now just withering away!

So today I am going to show you how Mochi does it!

I basically use two different methods when it comes to writing things down

- My bullet journal
-And three composition notebooks

My bullet journal is my free space! It's solely for creative purposes its where I go to express myself keep track of my favorite things, books I've read, shows I am watching and things of that nature

My composition notebooks are my productive space, they are labeled in three categories; Business/Blog, Personal lists, and Goals, Wedding planning. each of these notebooks is used for brainstorming, to do lists, Ideas etc and keeps them all respectively in one place. making it easy for me to flip through the pages and find exactly what I am looking for.
Be sure to have your highlighter handy to be able to go over anything super important!

I also keep a stash of sticky notes to stick onto my cork boards and notebooks whenever I have a spur of the moment idea.

Everyone has different methods of organizing their ideas and you have to pick one that works for you, prefer spirals or binders rather than composition notebooks go for it! it 's all about you and how you want to see your ideas organized!

So I'm going to give you a little bit of homework today I want you to do two things
  1. Write down 5 things you want to achieve next week
  2. Write down 5 things you want to achieve this month
They don't have to be crazy big goals but they can be simple like drink water every day or read once a week it's the small victories that motivate us to do the  big things

TIP: don't just write down what you want to achieve but give each task subtasks that will help you achieve it! i.e
1. Drink more water
- Place glass of water by bed at night
- Set a reminder to drink water for morning, afternoon, and evening.
- Keep pitcher of water in the refrigerator

Give it a try  & Be sure to stop by tomorrow for the next step of Living a more organized life!

TIPS AND HACKS FOR SPUR OF THE MOMENT IDEAS!
  1. Keep a mini notebook or notepad in your bag it'll help you remember things you want to add to your notebooks/ binders later and also make sure you don't forget it!
  2.  Need to remember something important? Try taking a sticky note and sticking it to something you look at every morning
  3. Instead of writing in the notes on your phone write in the reminders you tend to look at your reminders more than you look at your notes
