First Snowfall of The season

Being from New York I love the snow! I love how beautiful it looks like it's falling I Love the crispness in the air just before a snowstorm But most of all I love how the snow mutes the world. The world seems to go silent as this white blanket falls over the earth. No cars on the road, Little to no people outside everything is silent.

Here in Fayetteville I have barely seen snow, and what they call snow down here is not snow at all a thin layer barely enough for a kid to make a snowball and yet everything gets shut down and closed early.

I remember when I was younger my brother and I would get so excited about the snow!
When the roads were completely closed my whole family would have snowball fights on the high way directly in front of our house or in the playground in the back of my apartment complex covered in several feet of snow. Snow brought people together it caused kids to stay home from school and parents to stay home from work. No one wanted to travel out to work or school but parents would bundle up to take their children out in the snow that would come up to at least your ankles.

So even now as a young adult snow is magical to me, So last night when Fayetteville got hit with a little bit more snow than usual I was ecstatic. I went out in the bitter cold just to feel that crisp air again to be able to look up and see those beautiful flurries dancing underneath streetlights made the world so much more beautiful. And to be able to wake up to the sight of a beautiful blanket of snow covering the ground is truly amazing!

DIY stash jars from old make up containers

Hey, Guys, I've been doing a lot of cleaning lately and I'm trying to get rid of any junk I don't need or want anymore but somethings can be repurposed can they not? so when I came across this old jar of elf lip tint that barely had any left I figured let's get to work!

For this DIY project you will need:

  • Empty makeup jars
  • Paint, Stickers, Glitter etc (get creative with it)

Step one:

The first thing you want to do is get your jar completely empty I scraped out the remaining product with a plastic butter knife and then just scrubbed it with hot water and dish soap. Make sure you dry out you're container as well

Step two:

The next thing you want to do is paint the base part of your jar this part is completely optional you could leave it clear but I wanted to add a little bit more secrecy to my jar so I  used gold paint to paint the bottom part.  let this part dry completely before putting anything inside

*note: I also went over mine with modge podge to kind of seal the deal

Step three

Next, you want to move on to the cap, the cap of this jar needed a good scrubbing but I ultimately decided to keep the top white I figured it would make for a pretty contrast against the gold base of the jar. however, I did want to cover the elf logo on the top so I recently got these Super Adorable Stickers on eBay for less than $1 and Figured this was a perfect time to use them I  struggled with which one I wanted to use but ultimately ended up going with this one.

I just simply placed the sticker on the top of the lid and cut off any excess around the sides

Once the base of your jar is completely dry It's ready to use! I'll probably end up using this jar to store my earrings because it's small but it's super cute!

Let me know what you guys think and let me see the jars you created ! just post them in the comments or tag me in your Instagram photos @Simply.Mochi_
