New York Target Haul- items under $5

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope everyone has been having a great week! This week I am visiting my family in New York and I am so excited to be here! The past two days I have spent with my family have been full of laughs and fun and it's exactly what I needed.

So Today I decided to go for a walk through my old neighborhood and visit the Target since it's so close to my parent's house and the one in Fayetteville is a little bit far. And boy am I glad I did!

. If you saw my last shopping haul you'll know that I didn't find much on my last trip to Target but this time although I did not find any shopkins blind boxes, I found some super cute things in the Dollar section as well as a ton of items on clearance throughout the store! So let's dive right in and check out these awesome items!

So every time I go to Target I hit up their dollar section it's honestly been my favorite part of Target since my first year of college. Today was no different I found tons of cute stationery in the dollar section

Check out these super cute mini binder dividers! I actually just made some DIY dividers because I couldn't find any cute ones (Look out for a post on that soon, it's currently in the works.) But these are perfect I love all of the different designs and patterns. [$3]

Check out all of this super cute stamps These were also in the dollar section  I just had to buy these stamps it has all of the things I love  A cat mermaid, a cute little pineapple, and a tiny little avocado and all for [$1]  Plus I found the matching Ink pad in these beautiful neon colors for [$1]

I also Found these stamps that looked a little bit more like I'm at least trying to be an adult and figured the would not only look pretty would really come in handy for my journal and planner. These were [$3]

I had to dig through a few things but I was able to find some sticky notes and page flags and they are absolutely gorgeous and I loved all of the different designs they had to offer and but I decided to grab these two because the colors matched the stationery I bought the last time I was at Target. There are 80-page flags and 100 sticky notes and they only cost [$1/each] with designs this cute and prices this cheap they practically put themselves in my cart.

The last thing I picked up in the dollar section was this stationery set that came with a binder divider, page flags, sticky notes & stickers  I fell in love with this set I love all of the stickers and I absolutely adore the page flags with the eyes on them I think they're super cute! This whole set only cost [$3]!

After I left the dollar section I decided to browse around the store and see what things I could find on clearance and there was honestly a few things I would have bought if fitting it all in my suitcase and duffle bag was not something I had to worry about. But I ended up in this huge clearance section full of goodies so I got to digging to see what I could find.

I was able to grab Yet another mini binder It's a little dinged up but nothing a few stickers and maybe some paint couldn't fix and for the price, it couldn't be beaten! I nabbed this binder for [$1.18] can you believe it I was so happy LOL!

I also dug out these simple but lovely binder dividers to use In the 1 inch binder I got from Target the last time they were only [$0.88/per pack of 5 ] I had to grab two packs because I never find pretty dividers that cheap and who knows when I'll need some.

And the Last things I picked up on my Target trip where these cute pink and white binder clips with motivational quotes on the front the pack cost [$1.78] along with these super cute magnetic bookmarks with the cutest sayings on them for [$1.48]

But the Item that stole the show this Trip are these SUPER CUTE PAPER CLIPS!

Can you tell what they're shaped like? That's right little sloths! I thought they were so cute I just had to have them! They come in four different colors and there are 30 paper clips of each color. the whole pack cost me [$2.00].

I am absolutely in love with all of the things I found in Target and cannot wait to get them back on home to my desk!

Total this trip at Target I spent [$20] Which I feel pretty good about!

So If You've been reading my blog for a while you know that I am proud New Yorker.
If you want to know more about my life in New York be sure to check out this post HERE
The city that truly never sleeps, I miss it so much but I don't want to move back just yet. However, I always love to visit not just the city I love but all of the people I love as well.

So why the random post about New York?
Well because I am visiting home this week and I am so excited because I get to see my family but I am also really glad to spend some time in the city. I have a lot of things planned in the upcoming months and a lot of goals I want to achieve this year in general so I probably won't be able to go back home until some time in the summer.

I arrived this morning and I am so happy to be back and visiting.
I plan to visit a few of my favorite places while I'm here, I won't be here very long but I intend to make the most of the time I have by spending as much time with my family as possible as well as have some much needed me time.

So make sure you check in this week to see all the things I'll be up to in New York this week

What about me?

Hey guys just wanted to once again apologize for the lack of posting occurring the past two weeks but a lot has been going on and I am trying to get my rhythm back and reform a routine based on my new work schedule.

I feel in order to better connect with my readers I should give you all a little more insight into my life, sure I gave you a little taste with my intro post and Various other personal posts I have scattered here and there on the blog. But the truth is there is absolutely nothing simple about my life.

I will not pretend to be this all put together person because I am not, I am a 22-year-old young woman who has gotten to a point in her life where she is desperately trying to decide what it is she was meant to do on this forsaken planet.  I am so excited to begin taking this journey to finding myself and I am even more excited to be sharing it with others with hopes of being a source of inspiration to those at a similar point in their life.

So today I wanted to kind of take a break and give you the rundown on

Who Is Moki?

So I guess the most important thing is how I got the nickname Moki, well from a very young age I had two nicknames Mo and NaeNae typical nicknames for the name Monae. But as I got older I grew tired of Naenae and wanted something a little bit more mature I guess, so I settled for Mo and it stuck with me throughout high school. Moki came into play because my fiance felt Mo had a more masculine aura about it and didn't really represent my girly nature lol. So he combined the first initials of my first name Monae and my middle name and Kiyanna , and MoKi was born.

I was born in Brooklyn New York at Wyckoff hospital on October 11,1995 to the two most awesome parents I Could ever ask for. I personally hate it when people say "I was fortunate enough to have both parents in my life." Because I know tons of people who grew up with one parent in their home and are doing just fine.I didn't have much growing up but my parents always made sure we were good and that we were well-rounded individuals which is why I never sought out to be materialistically rich. I'd rather have a rich soul full of experiences and treasured memories.

My parent's raised me on the musical likings of Jill Scott, Erica Badu, Tupac, Lauren Hill, TLC, to name a few, the greats. My father knows good music and to this day shows me that it is always worth looking for the music in life no matter how difficult it is. My dad has been making music in my house for as long as I could remember. I remember being barely 6 climbing onto a chair to be able to reach my dad's microphone just so I could spout nonsense, that to him was musical genius to be sampled onto songs he made himself. My dad is the source of my extreme pride he's always told me I can do anything I put my mind to (He's actually been telling me to start a blog for years).Which is why I'll never settle for anything less than greatness.

My mother has raised me into the woman I am today, strong, independent and hardworking. My mom has worked her behind off for everything in life and shows me that there is no age limit to achieving your dreams. My mom is currently in the works of making one of her lifelong dreams of bringing her aromatherapy creations beloved by my family to the masses. My mom is definitely a huge source of inspiration for me ! She actually is the reason I began pursuing my own online business which I promise I will tell you all about sometime really soon.

So when I was about 7 years old my mom told me she was pregnant with my brother, if I am going to be completely honest here I wasn't exactly thrilled I really wanted a little sister at the time but now that I look back and have experiences the hell my friends with little sisters had to go through I coudln't be happier. Everything I do is to show my brother that anything is possible. he's come a long way  he's doing pretty well in school and he plays basketball seriously and he's really a pretty good kid he's about to be 16 this coming august and I still can't believe it it seems like just yesterday I was leaning of carrier waiting for the days he could talk to me and now he says things that literally have me on the brink of tears ( we both got my dad's humor).

So now for the main question I get asked on the regular...

Why Did I Move to North Carolina?

It surprises me how often I get asked this question by people who live here in Fayetteville, As a New Yorker have extreme pride for my city even the bad parts.

But here in Fayetteville it seems to be a town full of people who didnt exactly choose to be here but still ended up here for tons of various reasons and decided to stay. Fayetteville is a huge army town home of one of the biggest military bases Fort Bragg as well as Pope Air force base.

But what brings this big city girl to this little town you ask? I wish I could really tell you some life changing experience happened or something like that but All I Can say is I needed a change, New York is a great big beautiful city and I LOVE it with all my heart but living there is extremely expensive and to be honest it bored me a little. And it gave me sense of helplessness knowing that I was saving up money to basically still be struggling to handle it all in the near future.

So We packed up our bags and headed south !

Who is we you asked ?

The love of my life of course ! We've been together for about 9 years now and he's just completely awesome and super supportive ! I'll talk about him more later on probably for Valentine's day because I don't want this post to be years long LOL.

So yeah currently Fayetteville has become my cute little home and I am not exactly in love with it but it is beginning to feel more and more like home everyday and if what I have planned this year works out I think I will be absolutely in love with it very soon LOL.

First Snowfall of The season

Being from New York I love the snow! I love how beautiful it looks like it's falling I Love the crispness in the air just before a snowstorm But most of all I love how the snow mutes the world. The world seems to go silent as this white blanket falls over the earth. No cars on the road, Little to no people outside everything is silent.

Here in Fayetteville I have barely seen snow, and what they call snow down here is not snow at all a thin layer barely enough for a kid to make a snowball and yet everything gets shut down and closed early.

I remember when I was younger my brother and I would get so excited about the snow!
When the roads were completely closed my whole family would have snowball fights on the high way directly in front of our house or in the playground in the back of my apartment complex covered in several feet of snow. Snow brought people together it caused kids to stay home from school and parents to stay home from work. No one wanted to travel out to work or school but parents would bundle up to take their children out in the snow that would come up to at least your ankles.

So even now as a young adult snow is magical to me, So last night when Fayetteville got hit with a little bit more snow than usual I was ecstatic. I went out in the bitter cold just to feel that crisp air again to be able to look up and see those beautiful flurries dancing underneath streetlights made the world so much more beautiful. And to be able to wake up to the sight of a beautiful blanket of snow covering the ground is truly amazing!
